About this class

The perfect cozy to kick off winter! In this class, you’ll learn basic improvisational patchwork and quilting techniques to create a fun and unique layering piece. This quilted vest is cozy, on trend, and reversible. This class is suitable for all skill levels, so if you've taken one of our beginner classes and are feeling ambitious, you can sign up! This is also a great entry into garment sewing for seasoned quilters. This project is the perfect way to use up treasured fabric scraps, beloved old clothes, fat quarters, and charm packs. You can go all out with wild colors and prints or keep it simple in a monochromatic palette. You can choose between a classic snap front vest and a cropped, open front vest. You can also choose between bias binding and plain finish for the edges of your vest. You can bring your own supplies to this class OR purchase them at Patchwork. The pattern for this project is included in the class cost. Supplies needed: - A selection of fabric yardage, fat quarters or scraps. Medium weight woven fabrics recommended. We have a BUNCH of great scraps, remnants, and reuse fabric available for this project, all available at no cost! - 1-2 yards of cotton or wool batting (depending on size and style of your vest) - 1/2" double fold bias binding OR fabric to make your own (optional) - Snaps, size 16 prong recommended (if you are making the snap front version) - Thread
